Jack M. and Bel Ostrow Library
The Ostrow Library is designed to meet the needs of the University's faculty and students, as well as scholars conducting research in all fields of Jewish culture and civilization. With approximately 100,000 volumes, the library's collections have grown consistently through endowments, gifts of major private collections and an ongoing acquisition program. Its holdings include:

Collections in Bible, business administration, education, Hebrew literature, Israel and Zionism, Bible, business administration, education, Hebrew literature, Jewish history and archaeology, the Middle East, philosophy, rabbinics, social science, theology and Yiddish.

The Gindi Microfilm Collection.

An extensive collection of dissertations published in the United States on Jewish subjects.

The Maslan Bible Collection, containing more than 5,000 Bibles from as early as the 16th century.

The Milken Liberal Arts Collection, comprised of acquisitions in the arts and humanities.

Within 3-5 business days the system will have your books delivered right to the UJ library where you can pick them up at your convenience.
The Details

Use your UJ library barcode to check out books to yourself. If you don’t know your barcode, check with the library staff and they’ll assign you a barcode.

Books may be borrowed for 21 days with a two-week renewal. Please renew online, or notify us three days prior to the due date that you want to renew.

You may borrow up to 15 books at a time.

If you return books late, the fine is $1.00 per day. If you lose a book, the cost to replace it is $115.

The paper version of the EJ is available in the Reference section of the library.
The online version is available campus-wide through the Gale Virtual Reference Library listed under “UJ Research Databases” on our web page.
